Many guests have asked whether the food at Incanto represents the cuisine from a particular region of Italy. Our answer is, “Yes, the food we serve at Incanto represents a part of Italy that is called ‘California’.” Whenever we have guests at Incanto who are visiting from Italy, they immediately understand and appreciate this philosophy, for it is precisely what a skilled Italian cook would say if he were to move from Italy here to San Francisco.

With this in mind, we are pleased to present at Incanto food that is based on the bedrock principles of Italian cooking: emphasis on the freshest and highest-quality local ingredients, respectful treatment of food, and presentation that is neither overwrought or fussy.

Our menu changes daily (sometimes at the very last moment) depending on availability of ingredients. We have posted a sample menu here on our website for you, but please note that all menu items are subject to change.

Incanto’s wine list is comprised almost entirely of Italian wines, many of which are probably unfamiliar to you. For this reason, we would like to provide a brief introduction to Incanto’s wine program.

Italy has the most recognizable shape of any country in the world. But we must remember that Italy is a small country, less then three-quarters the size of California. In spite of its size, Italy is rivaled only by France as the world’s largest wine producer.

In addition to wines by the bottle, we offer a dynamic program of wines by the glass, organized by style of wine and providing 20 to 25 wines by the glass, half-glass, half-liter, as well as themed flights for experiencing several wines together.

The most important aspect of Incanto’s wine program is that at the end of it you enjoy a good glass of wine. We are available to guide you to the wine that best suits your taste. Please don’t hesitate to ask for help from our staff if we can be of assistance.  Corkage policy: $25 per 750 ml bottle.
